The emerging trend of longevity is unlocking the potential to revolutionize human health

The notion that aging is inevitable is no longer universally accepted.
Traditionally, inquiring about the definition of longevity would have elicited responses like "immortality." However, the field of geroscience has progressed at an astonishing pace, leading to a transformation in the language used to define and describe longevity. While the mainstream media still emphasizes prolonging the lives of the affluent, longevity is primarily concerned with increasing healthspan - the duration of time that is characterized by good health and freedom from disease.
Scientific advancements have demonstrated that aging is a flexible phenomenon. Although a single underlying cause is unlikely to ever be pinpointed due to various reasons, the interplay between quality control mechanisms that preserve cellular integrity and the effects of "wear and tear" plays a significant role. Over time, this wear and tear manifests as terminal diseases. Aging can be accelerated or decelerated, resulting in a biological age that may differ from one's chronological age, whereby different organs can exhibit varying biological ages.
All of these factors contribute to the complexity of the journey towards longevity - the pursuit of a better, healthier and happier life.
